During his design studies, Jens quickly realized that the moving image appealed to him even more than graphics and photography and therefore specialized in film during his main studies, in which he also graduated. He acquired his technical knowledge mainly self-taught and the experiences from this time are still the formative ones for his unconventional thinking and a pragmatic approach.
His interests are broad and range from advertising to scenic to documentary projects in all facets and project sizes. He works for small startups, musicians (Sophie Turner, Bill Kaulitz, Tim Bendzko,
Eko Fresh, Frida Gold) and cultural projects as well as for large international agencies and brands (Mercedes, Opel, VW, MAC cosmetics, Wella, Nivea, Eucerin, Yamaha, Hansaplast, Paulaner, Warsteiner, Bittburger and many more).
His clear focus is on camera work whereby he also often takes on the director/DoP role in one person, as he approaches projects holistically and was involved in the conceptual planning at an early stage. Through this, the path to directing was not far.
He loves the diversity of content, always thinking his way into new subject areas and expanding his own horizons.
